2024 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV's interior gets a complete transformation
【Summary】Skoda has released new images previewing the interior of the 2024 Kodiaq SUV. The vehicle will feature physical dial controls that can be customized for various functions, such as climate settings and stereo volume. The new Kodiaq will also have a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument display, and a relocated automatic gear selector on the steering wheel. Connectivity is emphasized with USB-C ports and a wireless phone-charging box.
The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq will feature physical dial controls for important functions, as revealed by new images released by the Czech firm. These three dials, located between the centre console and the dashboard, can be customized to adjust various functions. In the official images, they are shown managing the climate settings for the front occupants on each respective side, with the stereo volume control between them.
For user convenience, the dials on either side of the front occupants can control the cabin temperature, seat heating or ventilation, depending on preference. The central controller, on the other hand, can adjust the fan speed, air direction, sound system volume, chosen driving mode, or the zoom level of the sat-nav map.
In addition to the dial controls, the new Kodiaq will also feature a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument display. Furthermore, the automatic gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a stalk on the steering wheel, creating more legroom for the front occupants.
Connectivity is also a key aspect of the new Kodiaq's design. USB-C ports are integrated into the rear-view mirror and centre console, and a 15W wireless phone-charging box is included.
The Skoda Kodiaq has had a successful journey so far, with the debut model followed by the popular Skoda Karoq and Kamiq. Now, Skoda is returning to where it all began with the arrival of a new Kodiaq in the first quarter of 2024. The second-generation large SUV will continue to share parts with other Volkswagen Group models, including the new VW Tiguan. Pricing, trim levels, and equipment details will be confirmed later this year, but customers can expect a standard Kodiaq version as well as a sportier-looking SportLine variant. Most versions of the Kodiaq will come with seven seats, and a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is expected to join the lineup about a year later.
