2024 Skoda Superb Unveils Sleek and Extended Design

Skoda has recently released a new gallery showcasing the upcoming Superb sedan, which will complete the lineup alongside the Combi estate. The Superb sedan, despite its low-slung three-box silhouette, is actually a hatchback, as the boot opens with the rear glass. This is a departure from the first-generation Superb, which was a four-door sedan, and the second-generation, which featured a clever twin tailgate mechanism. The third-generation and upcoming fourth-generation Superb models are classic five-door hatchbacks.

The 2024 Skoda Superb Hatchback has dimensions of 4,912 mm (193.4 inches) in length, 1,834 mm (72.2 inches) in width, and 1,481 mm (58.3 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,841 mm (111.9 inches). Compared to its predecessor, the new Superb Hatchback is 43 mm (1.7 inches) longer and 12 mm (0.5 inches) taller, resulting in an improved drag coefficient of 0.24 cd. It is worth noting that the Hatchback is slightly longer than the Combi estate, with the small difference attributed to the rear overhang.

Skoda has already revealed the interior of the Superb without any camouflage. The dashboard features a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. One of the highlights is a trio of rotary push-button dials with integrated screens on the center console, which control various functions. The Superb lineup includes the Essence, Selection, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement versions. The interior textiles are made from 100% recycled polyester, and the optional leather is produced using an eco-friendly tanning process, available in Black or Cognac shades. The hatchback has a boot capacity of 645 lt (22.8 cubic feet), slightly smaller than the Combi's 690 lt (24.4 cubic feet). Additionally, the Superb offers 28 Simply Clever features to enhance practicality, a core value of the brand.

Unlike the Superb Combi, the Superb Hatchback will not be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain option. Both models are built on an improved version of the MQB architecture and offer a range of powertrain options, including diesel, petrol, and mild-hybrid petrol engines, all paired with a DSG automatic transmission. However, the 1.5 TSI iV plug-in hybrid with 201 hp (204 PS) and an electric range of over 100 km (62 miles) will only be offered in the Superb Combi. This means that customers who desire an electrified Superb will have to settle for the mild-hybrid option.

The official debut of the 2024 Skoda Superb is scheduled for November, and we can expect more teasers from the company leading up to that date.
