2024 Tesla Model 3 -> Tesla's 2024 Model 3

Over the years, the Tesla Model 3 has faced harsh criticism for its low-quality interior bits and pieces, sloppy fit and finish, and a cabin that felt cheap for a supposed 'premium' sedan. However, an update is expected to address these concerns and bring the Model 3 more in line with its premium designation. The European models showcase some promising changes.

One significant improvement in the Tesla Model 3 is the introduction of new seats that now feature ventilation in addition to heating capabilities. The use of higher quality materials throughout the cabin is also apparent. The demo model used in the European presentation reveals the removal of the out-of-place wood trim and the addition of a new steering wheel with more controls. All the stalks and levers behind the wheel have been eliminated, and gear selection is now done through the central screen. Additionally, integrated ambient lighting enhances the cabin's aesthetics, and there are new sound-deadening materials to improve the overall driving experience.

The 15-inch screen, which handles all the infotainment duties and some vehicle functions, remains unchanged in the updated Model 3. However, rear-seat passengers now have access to a new eight-inch screen for controlling climate, ventilation, and multimedia playback. In terms of entertainment, the Model 3 now features a 17-speaker sound system in the Long Range version, while the base model comes with a nine-speaker setup.

The center console of the Model 3 has also undergone a redesign, featuring an aluminum top and providing wireless charging capabilities for two devices. As for cargo and trunk space, it is expected to remain the same as the previous model, offering a total of 23 cubic feet, including the frunk.

Changes have also been made to the interior materials and colors of the Model 3, although specific details are still scarce. The upholstery now features perforations, but the available options have not been clarified.
