2024 Tesla Model 3: A Test Drive Experience

The Tesla Model 3 is set to receive a thorough update for 2024, considering that its core design has been in existence since 2017. As Tesla's bread and butter model, the Model 3 has been incredibly successful due to its impressive range, charging speed, and performance, which still outshine its rivals even after several years on the market. Additionally, the Model 3 offers agile and natural-feeling handling, making it stand out among other Teslas.

Furthermore, Tesla reduced the Model 3's list price earlier this year, making it only slightly more expensive than electric hatchbacks like the Vauxhall Astra Electric. This price reduction was not a temporary sale but a permanent adjustment to make the Model 3 more accessible. Tesla assures customers that the facelifted version of the Model 3 will only see a marginal price increase of £1000-2000 when it arrives in the UK in early 2024.

In response to customer feedback, Tesla has refreshed over 50% of the Model 3's components to enhance refinement and comfort. This facelift aims to address any concerns and further improve the driving experience for Model 3 owners.

Cosmetically, the most noticeable change to the Model 3 is at the front. The sleeker headlights now eliminate the need for fog lights, resulting in their removal. This change has allowed for the reshaping of the bumper to reduce drag and increase efficiency. At the back, the rear lights have been redesigned into a C-shaped pattern and integrated into the bootlid, while the badge has been replaced with 'Tesla' lettering. The reverse lights are now positioned lower on the bumper. Additionally, the red and grey paint options have been slightly updated, and the wheel designs have been modified to enhance aerodynamic efficiency.

The new Model 3 also comes with improved tires that have been selected to enhance ride comfort and reduce road noise. While the ride of the Model 3 has always been on the firmer side, the retuned bushings and revised front geometry in the updated model provide a slightly better cushioning effect over bumps compared to its predecessor.
