In addition to the 50 states, there are also several territories and other regions that are part of the United States. These include Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Washington D.C., which is the capital of the United States.

Canada, our neighbor to the north, also has several provinces and territories. These include Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon Territory.

Postal codes are used to identify specific geographic areas for the purpose of sorting and delivering mail. In the United States, postal codes are called ZIP codes, while in Canada, they are called postal codes. These codes help ensure that mail is delivered accurately and efficiently to the correct locations.
