Blue supermoon shines in the UK

A unique celestial event has graced the skies of the UK, captivating stargazers with the appearance of a rare blue supermoon. This phenomenon, which will occur only once this year, is not actually named after its color, but rather refers to the occurrence of a second full moon within a single calendar month.

Typically, most months only witness one full moon, making the appearance of a second full moon a relatively uncommon event that happens approximately every two or three years. This makes the blue supermoon a truly special occurrence.

With its larger-than-usual appearance, the blue supermoon was initially expected to rise at approximately 8pm (BST) on Thursday and set at around 6am the following day. However, it surprised observers by shining brightly on Wednesday night, providing an unexpected treat for those fortunate enough to witness it.
