Cars 2023: upcoming releases

Looking for a new car in 2023? This comprehensive guide has all the information you need. We've compiled a list of the biggest model launches scheduled for the next 12 months, covering everything from supercars to superminis, electric cars to V12s, and hybrids to hot hatchbacks. Interestingly, a significant portion of the upcoming models will be electric. Are you considering making the switch to an electric car this year?

In August 2023, the Jeep Avenger, Jeep's first electric vehicle, will hit the market. This compact SUV boasts a 54kWh battery, offering a range of up to 249 miles and supporting charging speeds of up to 100kW. The Avenger will be available in both single- and dual-motor configurations, although specific power outputs have not been disclosed. Furthermore, Jeep has plans to introduce three more electric models in Europe by 2025.

September 2023 will see the arrival of the McLaren 750S, replacing the 720S. The new model has undergone significant updates and improvements, available in both coupé and Spider versions. Power has been increased to 740bhp, and McLaren aims to establish the 750S as a new benchmark in the supercar segment, boasting a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 579bhp per tonne. Additionally, the 750S is the lightest series-production McLaren road car to date, weighing just 79kg more than the Senna hypercar.

The Peugeot 208 has undergone some notable changes for 2023. It features a more prominent grille, daytime-running lights inspired by hypercars, and the introduction of two hybrid powertrains. The electric variant, e-208, has also received upgrades, including a new motor and battery that offer increased range and efficiency.

Another Peugeot model receiving updates is the Peugeot 508. This elegant saloon has been refreshed both in terms of appearance and interior enhancements. While there may be other options that are cheaper and potentially better, the Peugeot 508, particularly in PSE PHEV form, offers an exhilarating driving experience with its old-school power delivery.

The Peugeot 2008 has also undergone a style refresh and modifications to its powertrain lineup. The all-electric variant of the 2008 has received significant upgrades, including a more powerful electric motor and a larger 54kWh battery, similar to the one used in the revised e-208 model. Power has increased by 18% compared to the previous e-2008, now offering 153hp.
