Munro Vehicles, the Scottish manufacturer of all-electric 4x4s, is making progress in completing its first vehicles for customers at its factory in East Kilbride. The company has received over 250 pre-orders for its truck and pick-up models, and it expects demand to increase from various industries such as mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense.

To showcase their progress, Munro Vehicles invited 61 investors, deposit holders, and supporters to witness the production of the first light vehicle in Scotland in over four decades. Graham Simpson, a Conservative MSP, expressed his fascination with Munro Vehicles and its potential to contribute to Scotland's future. He emphasized the importance of zero-emission mobility, especially in sectors like agriculture, forestry, and wind turbine management.

Munro's all-electric 4x4 offers a rugged solution for those operating in challenging sectors. The brand has the potential to become a significant employer in the region, creating skilled jobs within the company and the wider supply chain.

Munro CEO and Co-Founder Russell Peterson expressed his pride in sharing the engineering and passion behind their all-terrain electric vehicles. He welcomed MSP Graham Simpson to their headquarters, showcasing the innovation in sustainable transport that Scotland has to offer.

The first two customer vehicles, known as Founder Editions, are currently being hand-built at Munro's headquarters. The truck, built to Munro's Range specification, boasts 220kW of power, 600Nm of torque, a 190-mile range, and a 2.5-tonne braked towing weight. The pick-up model features a 280kW battery, 700Nm of torque, a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and an estimated range of 190 miles.

The Munro MK_1 is equipped with an 82.4kWh battery that can be rapidly recharged from 15% to 80% capacity in just 36 minutes using a 100kW DC charger. A fully charged battery provides a range of over 190 miles, enabling up to 16 hours of off-road operation on a single charge.
