Exposed Tesla Cybertruck suspension system

A potential release candidate for the Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted on the side of the road in California, where it appears to have broken down. A motorist took advantage of the situation and managed to capture some spy shots of the Cybertruck, including images of its suspension.

Photos of the abandoned Cybertruck have been circulating online, showing the vehicle covered and left on the roadside near Los Altos Hills in California. According to Electrek, a Tesla engineer attempted to fix the problem but ultimately had to leave the truck covered and abandoned in the dirt. This allowed a curious bystander to snap some covert shots of the truck.

From the images, it can be seen that the Cybertruck is covered with a reflective sheet, but there is also a familiar camouflage pattern, suggesting that it could be a release candidate or even a prototype that has undergone terrain testing in other parts of the world. A few shots of the underside of the truck reveal a cluster of holes that could potentially be for a truck reversing speaker.

In another report, additional shots of the Cybertruck's suspension are shared, along with insights from a former suspension engineer. The expert describes the Cybertruck's suspension as having a rear lower A-arm made of two welded steel pieces, which is different from the casting at the front. There also appears to be an actuator for dynamically adjusting the damping. Overall, the comments about the Cybertruck's suspension are positive, highlighting its simplicity and robustness, although it is noted that it could still be a prototype system.
