Control your Tesla using Apple Shortcuts
【Summary】Tesla has introduced support for Apple Shortcuts in its latest mobile app update for iOS. This allows Tesla owners to control their cars through shortcuts, such as locking and unlocking the vehicle, starting preconditioning, and enabling various modes. Users can set up their own shortcuts and chain multiple actions into one command. The integration with Apple Shortcuts provides a convenient way for Tesla owners to interact with their vehicles using Siri or by adding shortcuts to the Home Screen.
Apple Shortcuts have just become even more useful for Tesla owners with the latest version (4.24.0) of the Tesla mobile app for iOS. In this update, Tesla has added support for Apple Shortcuts, a free app that comes with the iPhone and iPad. Shortcuts allows users to set up time-saving settings for various actions and even combine multiple actions into one shortcut. These shortcuts can be accessed with a tap or by using Siri, Apple's digital assistant.
Currently, there are 15 pre-set shortcuts available for Tesla owners, but users also have the option to create their own shortcuts and chain multiple actions together. Some of the available shortcuts include locking and unlocking the vehicle, starting preconditioning, enabling or disabling Sentry and Dog mode, opening and closing the charging port, boot, and bonnet, among others.
Once a shortcut is set up, users can easily access it by talking to Siri or by adding it to the Home Screen for quick and convenient access. The ability to chain multiple actions into one shortcut allows for the creation of more complex commands for your Tesla. For example, a shortcut can be created to lock the Tesla, close all windows, and enable Sentry mode with just one tap.
For those looking to take it a step further, the Shortcuts app also allows users to create Automations. Automations enable shortcuts to be run when certain conditions are met, such as arriving at a specific location or at a designated time of day.
To benefit from these new features, Tesla owners simply need to update their Tesla app on iOS to the latest version. With these enhancements, Tesla owners can spend less time in their cars and more time interacting with Siri and their Tesla vehicle.
