【Summary】The Lámpago e-trike is a stylish electric scooter designed for mobility rather than thrill, with a top speed of 28mph. It does not require a motorcycle license and can be operated with just an AM license. The design features vintage accents and a rear seat for a pillion rider. Electric trikes have never been considered the epitome of coolness, but that perception might change with the introduction of the Lámpago e-trike. The Turkish manufacturer, whose name means "Lightning" in Spanish, has designed a trike with a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), which is quite impressive.

However, delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, it is probably a good idea to have a lower top speed for this type of trike. Additionally, the presence of a rear seat for a passenger would further affect the trike's stability, as the center of gravity increases.

Despite these limitations, the Lámpago is being marketed as a mobility device rather than a thrilling ride. In fact, in the European market where it will be sold, riders can operate the Lámpago with just an AM license, which is meant for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is quite eye-catching, with its small left-side door, Vespa-inspired styling, Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and vintage two-tone color scheme. The addition of a rear storage bag and spare wheel cover further enhances the scooter's vintage appeal.

However, the Lámpago's drivetrain is underpowered compared to other electric scooters. It features a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack, offering only 1.8 kWh of battery capacity, which is about half of what a typical urban electric scooter has. The 1,000W electric motor also has less power than many electric bicycles, which may result in less impressive acceleration and hill climbing capabilities.

Despite its lower power, the Lámpago seems to be positioned as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. It may not be the most powerful option, but for those who want to travel around their city in style and have the option to bring a passenger along, the Lámpago could still provide a lot of fun.
