EGO POWER is well-known for their electric lawn care tools, including mowers, string trimmers, and chain saws. However, they have now introduced something that stands out from their work-focused catalog - an electric mini bike. The EGO POWER+ Mini Bike utilizes the company's swappable lithium-ion battery packs, allowing the same batteries used for leaf blowers to power this exciting ride.

It's important to note that the mini bike is not street legal, so it should only be used on dirt trails and other off-road riding areas. This limitation is probably for the best, considering the top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), which would make it difficult to keep up with traffic on most roads.

Rather than commuting to work, riders are more likely to enjoy slinging dirt around with the mini bike's cute little off-road tires.

The mini bike is powered by a pair of 56V 7.5Ah ARC Lithium batteries from EGO, providing a maximum range of up to 18 miles (29 km) with 840 Wh of battery capacity. It offers three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, and the 18-mile range is most likely measured in Eco mode. Additionally, there is a reverse mode, which is a useful feature considering the size of the bike.

Despite its toy-like appearance and proportions, the mini bike seems to be well-equipped. It features full suspension and hydraulic brakes, offering a decent ride for a motorcycle made from lawn mower parts.

The power of the rear hub motor is still unknown, but reaching a speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) on something the size of a rocking horse would undoubtedly feel incredibly fast.

The price and release date of the mini bike are currently unknown, as there is limited information and no official images available. However, EGO has stated that it will be available "soon."

While this is not the first electric mini bike we've seen, it is the first to utilize lawn mower batteries for power. Previous electric mini bikes have been designed for road use, such as Tromox's small electric motorcycles and CSC's City Slicker. Even Honda has shown interest in the market, patenting what appears to be a little electric Grom motorcycle.

An off-road offering like the EGO mini bike could provide a lot of fun, especially for those with land to explore. With swappable batteries, the 18-mile range can be extended as far as desired.

Just be sure not to use up all the battery packs in one go on the same day you need to mow your lawn, or else it will be a chore that remains on your to-do list.
