Ford of Europe is teasing a new camper van that is set to be unveiled on August 24. The company promises that this model will make outdoor trips an experience of a lifetime, embracing the "VanLife" trend. The teaser videos show glimpses of the exterior, including a sliding side window and a pop-up roof equipped with a solar panel. With the raised roof, there will be enough room to stand inside the van.
Although not much else is visible in the videos, the van features classy counters, a refrigerated drawer, zippered window coverings, and a rear touchscreen display for adjusting the color-changing lighting system. There also appears to be a sink and an external shower head or washer. Ford has released another teaser image for the van, further fueling anticipation.
While Ford has not provided specific details, it is speculated that the new camper van could be a redesigned version of the Transit Custom Nugget. The rear quarter glass suggests that the camper is based on the Transit Custom, which was introduced last September. The camper van variant is expected to debut at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon.
Full details about the camper van will be revealed soon. The Transit Custom is known for its range of powertrain options, including EcoBlue diesels with outputs ranging from 108 hp to 168 hp, as well as plug-in hybrid and electric variants.
