GeniePoint reduces EV charging prices in latest Zap-Pay campaign
【Summary】GeniePoint and Zap-Pay have launched a promotion offering discounted charging rates for EV drivers on the GeniePoint network. The promotion celebrates the launch of GeniePoint's GenieFlex pricing tariff on Zap-Pay and World EV Day. The offer provides a reduction of 10p per kWh, resulting in a charging tariff of 65p per kWh during off-peak times and 69p per kWh during peak times. This exclusive offer aims to make EV charging more affordable and accessible for drivers using Zap-Pay.
EV drivers using the GeniePoint network via Zap-Pay can take advantage of discounted charging rates for the first two weeks of September through a new promotion. This joint initiative celebrates the launch of GeniePoint's GenieFlex pricing tariff on Zap-Pay and is exclusively available to Zap-Pay users when charging on the GeniePoint network. It also coincides with World EV Day on September 9.
The GenieFlex pricing tariff offers customers access to lower charging rates during off-peak times when charge points are less likely to be in use. Off-peak times are classified as between 20:00 and 07:59. Currently, the GenieFlex price tariff is 75p per kWh for off-peak charging and 79p per kWh at peak times. However, as part of this exclusive offer, Zap-Pay users will enjoy a 10p per kWh reduction, resulting in a charging tariff of 65p per kWh during off-peak times and 69p per kWh during peak times. On average, this could save drivers around £3 per charge session.
Matt Lloyd, CPO manager at Zapmap, expressed his satisfaction with the discount, stating, "Zap-Pay is a simple way to pay for charging across networks through the Zapmap app. I'm delighted to offer such a significant discount on charging rates when using Zap-Pay on the GeniePoint network nationwide. We understand that costs are a concern for many drivers, whether they're embarking on long journeys or simply topping up at their destination. Therefore, it's fantastic to see Zap-Pay enhancing the benefits of the GenieFlex price tariff and supporting EV drivers who don't have access to a home charger."
Dee Humphries, director at GeniePoint owner Equans EV Solutions, emphasized their commitment to making EV charging accessible and convenient. Humphries stated, "At GeniePoint, we strive to make EV charging as accessible and convenient as possible. That's why we're thrilled to launch this exclusive charging discount in collaboration with Zapmap for EV drivers who use Zap-Pay. This offer is also our way of expressing gratitude to those who have transitioned to EVs and are supporting a sustainable future."
