Hyundai i20 facelift launch teaser
【Summary】The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift is set to release with updated features and design. The exterior will feature a sharp front end, new alloy wheels, and a dual-tone bumper at the rear. The interior will likely remain the same, but with potential updates to the digital instrument cluster and upholstery. It will retain the current petrol powertrains, including a 1.2-litre and a 1-litre turbo engine. The i20 will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz.
The 2023 Hyundai i20 is set to receive a range of new features and design updates, just in time for the festive season. Hyundai has released an official teaser video of the i20 facelift, which is expected to make its debut in India soon. The global launch of the 2023 i20 took place in May, and it is anticipated to feature revised design elements and new additions.
When it comes to the exterior, the 2023 i20 will undergo rejuvenation. The front of the vehicle will showcase a sharp look with an angular arrowhead air dam and a reworked all-black wide front grille. Additionally, a new Hyundai emblem will be placed on the bonnet. The LED headlight cluster will be updated while retaining the L-shaped LED DRLs. The premium hatchback will also come with newly designed alloy wheels, with the international model featuring star-shaped ones. At the rear, minimal upgrades will be made, including a new dual-tone bumper instead of the current all-black one, and the reflectors will be positioned above the bumper rather than in the lower black cladding area.
As for the interior, the cabin of the 2023 i20 will largely remain the same as the current model. However, it may now feature a dual-dashcam, similar to the one available in the recently launched Exter. The infotainment system will retain its 10.25-inch size, and the steering wheel design will also remain unchanged. However, updates may be made to the digital instrument cluster and upholstery. The international model is equipped with the ADAS feature, making the i20 potentially the first hatchback in India to offer this safety function.
In terms of engine specifications, the 2023 i20 will retain both the current petrol powertrains. This includes the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine with an output of 82bhp and 114.7Nm of torque, available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The turbo petrol engine, on the other hand, boasts 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, and is only available with the 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The new i20 will compete with popular models such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz in the segment.
