According to data from the US-based Automotive News outlet, their combined market share reached 10.6 percent in the January-June period, showing a 0.3 percentage point increase from the previous year.
Last year, Hyundai and Kia achieved a significant milestone by reaching a combined market share in the double digits. They have managed to maintain this level in the first six months of 2023.
In terms of individual market share, Hyundai accounted for 5.5 percent, which includes its premium brand Genesis, while Kia held a market share of 5.1 percent.
Among all automakers, General Motors secured the first position with a market share of 16.7 percent, followed by Toyota Motor and Ford Motor. Hyundai and Kia together ranked fourth on the list.
