Kia EV5 production version unveiled
【Summary】Kia has revealed its new EV5 electric SUV, which shares the same platform as the EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6. The compact SUV offers chunky styling and promises more practicality than the sleek EV6. While Kia has confirmed deliveries to the Chinese market, it remains uncertain if the EV5 will be available in the UK. The EV5's design closely resembles the earlier concept car, featuring LED daytime running lights and a distinctive grille design.
Korean car brands, particularly Hyundai and Kia, have been incredibly busy in recent years, consistently releasing new models. The latest addition to the lineup is the Kia EV5, which was recently unveiled at the Chengdu motor show in China.
The Kia EV5 is a compact electric SUV with a distinctive design that takes inspiration from the larger seven-seat Kia EV9. It offers a balance between style and practicality, providing a more spacious interior compared to the sleek EV6.
While Kia has confirmed that the EV5 will be available in the Chinese market by the end of the year, there is no official information regarding its availability in the UK. However, given the popularity of the mid-sized petrol-powered Sportage model in the UK, it is highly likely that the EV5 will be offered in the country as well.
In terms of design and interior, the production version of the Kia EV5 closely resembles the earlier concept car that was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show. It incorporates Kia's 'Opposites United' design language, which can also be seen in the EV9 and the latest Kia Picanto facelift. The front of the EV5 features a distinctive 'Tiger Face' grille design created using a series of LED daytime running light elements.
