Inspired by the interplay between natural landscapes and contemporary architecture, the EV5 is a smaller version of the EV9. It shares a similar size to the Sportage and features striking LED lighting that wraps around the front fascia and below the hood. Kia has replaced the traditional grille with their digital 'Tiger Face' design, and the three-dimensional Signature Star Map Lighting is inspired by star-studded constellations. The EV5 also shares design elements with the EV9, such as flush-fitting door handles and a rising beltline from the C-pillar. It has wide shoulder lines, powerful fenders, and pushed-back D-pillars.

Unlike the EV9, the EV5 has taillights that stretch almost entirely across the body, rather than being positioned high up alongside the back window. The rear of the EV5 also features a lowered spoiler and a skid plate located lower down. Customers will have a choice of nine glossy colors and one matte shade when selecting their EV5.
