Loveelectric's Plan to Sell Pre-Owned Lex Autolease Electric Vehicles

Loveelectric has expanded its electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme by partnering with Lex Autolease to offer used EVs through its Re-Loveelectric scheme. This partnership gives Loveelectric access to Lex Autolease's extensive fleet of used EVs before they hit the used car market, providing a wider choice for drivers.

Lex Autolease manages one of the largest EV fleets in the UK, financing approximately one in every eight EVs on the country's roads. Loveelectric's exclusive tie-up with Lex Autolease allows them to offer these vehicles to their customers.

Operating a used EV on the salary sacrifice scheme has several benefits. Loveelectric claims that rentals for used EVs can be up to 61% lower than for identical new cars on the scheme due to the vehicles already having undergone their initial depreciation. Monthly payments for the used EVs also include road tax, fully comprehensive insurance, servicing, breakdown cover, and maintenance, providing complete peace of mind to drivers.

Furthermore, driving a used EV offers additional savings such as potentially lower charging costs per mile compared to petrol and diesel vehicles, as well as avoiding charges in Ultra Low Emission Zones and Clean Air Zones. Loveelectric's used EVs are also immediately available, eliminating long lead times.

Steve Tigar, CEO and founder of Loveelectric, emphasized the cost advantages of the salary sacrifice scheme for used EVs. He stated that salary sacrifice is already the cheapest way to fund an electric car, allowing employees to save 30% to 60% compared to personal leasing. Expanding the pool of available vehicles to include cheaper, second-hand models amplifies these savings by hundreds of pounds per month.

Leasing companies are increasingly moving into used vehicle leasing, which helps to mitigate the effects of fluctuating used car values and makes electrification targets more affordable for end-user fleets. Loveelectric's mission with Re-Loveelectric is to make all-electric motoring as accessible as possible by taking advantage of the cost advantages offered by used EVs, as highlighted by Chris Stark, CEO of the Climate Change Committee.

By offering used EVs through its partnership with Lex Autolease, Loveelectric aims to meet the demand for greater consumer access to used EVs and make electric motoring accessible to as many people as possible.
