Moskvich, the former Renault auto plant in Russia, has recently expanded its dealership network, adding new partners in 12 Russian cities. The carmaker has partnered with car dealerships in Barnaul, Vologda, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Penza, Ryazan, Rostov, Surgut, Tambov, Togliatti, Tomsk, and Cherepovets, with these locations now preparing to open.
Prior to this expansion, Moskvich already had 55 sales and service centers in 25 Russian cities, highlighting the company's commitment to providing widespread access to its vehicles.
The Moscow plant, where semi-knocked down assembly of cars under the Moskvich brand began in November 2022, is focused on producing two models of crossovers. These vehicles, the Moskvich 3 with an internal combustion engine and the electric Moskvich 3e, utilize components from China's JAC.
In terms of production goals, the plant aims to manufacture at least 50,000 cars in 2023, with a significant portion of that figure dedicated to the production of 10,000 electric vehicles. This reflects Moskvich's commitment to meeting the growing demand for electric mobility in the Russian market.
