Munro Vehicles, the Scottish manufacturer of all-electric 4x4s, is making significant progress in completing its first vehicles for customers. Located in East Kilbride, the company has received over 250 pre-orders for its truck and pick-up models. The target markets for these vehicles include mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense.

The company recently invited 61 investors, deposit holders, and supporters to witness the production of the first light vehicle in Scotland in over four decades. Graham Simpson, a member of the Scottish Parliament's Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency groups, expressed his fascination with Munro Vehicles and their potential to contribute to Scotland's future. He believes that the brand's rugged, all-electric 4x4s could be the solution for sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and wind turbine management, which are challenging to decarbonize. Simpson also highlighted the potential for the brand to create highly skilled jobs in the region.

Russell Peterson, Munro's CEO and Co-Founder, expressed his pride in the engineering and passion behind the creation of these all-terrain electric vehicles. He welcomed Graham Simpson to the company's headquarters and showcased the Scottish innovation in sustainable transport.

The first two customer vehicles, known as Founder Editions, are currently being hand-built at Munro's East Kilbride headquarters. The truck model, built to Munro's Range specification, offers 220kW of power, 600Nm of torque, a range of approximately 190 miles, and a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes. The pick-up model features a 280kW battery, 700Nm of torque, a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, and an estimated range of 190 miles.

The Munro MK_1 is equipped with an 82.4kWh battery, which can be rapidly recharged from 15% to 80% capacity in just 36 minutes using a 100kW DC charger. With a fully charged battery, the vehicle can operate off-road for up to 16 hours, covering a range of over 190 miles.
