Munro's initial vehicles almost done.

Munro Vehicles, a Scottish manufacturer of all-electric 4x4s, is making progress in completing its first vehicles for customers. The factory in East Kilbride has received over 250 pre-orders for both the truck and pick-up models, and the company expects volume to increase from target markets such as mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense.

To showcase their progress, Munro Vehicles invited 61 investors, deposit holders, and supporters to witness the production of the first light vehicle in Scotland in over four decades. Conservative MSP Graham Simpson, who is part of the Scottish Parliament's Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency groups, expressed his fascination with Munro Vehicles and its potential impact on Scotland's decarbonization efforts. He believes that the all-electric 4x4 could provide a solution for challenging sectors like agriculture, forestry, and wind turbine management, and also create job opportunities.

Munro CEO and Co-Founder Russell Peterson expressed his pride in the engineering and passion that goes into building these all-terrain electric vehicles. He welcomed MSP Graham Simpson to their headquarters, showcasing Scottish innovation in sustainable transport.

The first two customer vehicles, known as Founder Editions, are currently being hand-built in Munro's East Kilbride headquarters. The first vehicle, a truck, is being constructed to Munro's Range specification, offering 220kW of power, 600Nm of torque, a 190-mile range, and a 2.5-tonne braked towing weight. The second vehicle, a pick-up, features a 280kW battery, 700Nm of torque, a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and an estimated range of 190 miles.

The Munro MK_1 is equipped with an 82.4kWh battery that can be rapidly recharged from 15% to 80% capacity in just 36 minutes using a 100kW DC charger. With a fully charged battery, the vehicle can operate off-road for up to 16 hours, providing a range of over 190 miles.
