Porsche 911 S/T Puma Sneakers: The Ultimate Car-Themed Footwear
【Summary】Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911 sports car with the release of two sneaker designs inspired by the 911 S/T and the original 911 S. The 911 S/T is a lightweight car with a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine and a manual gearbox. The classic Puma Retro Sneaker pays homage to the 911 S 2.5 with its light blue exterior, retro design elements, and Gulf Oil livery-inspired laces.
Porsche is celebrating not only its 75th anniversary as a brand but also the 60th anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car. To commemorate this milestone, Porsche has introduced the Porsche 911 S/T and released two sneaker designs.
The Porsche 911 S/T is a lightweight car that takes inspiration from the 1972 911 S. It features a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine from the 911 GT3 RS, paired with a manual gearbox. The car also boasts shorter ratios and a single-mass flywheel, making it a thrilling driving experience.
In addition to the 911 S/T, Porsche Design has launched the classic Puma Retro Sneaker to pay homage to the oldie but goodie 911 S 2.5. The sneaker is designed in the same light blue exterior as the original car, with a retro-grille-bad hangtag design. The 56 starting number on the heel is a nod to the Porsche 911 that participated in GT racing in 1972. Although it didn't have the S/T name at the time, it was the first to incorporate "S" special racing components. The red-orange laces give the sneaker a Gulf Oil livery look.
