Nine individuals are currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital after a car collided with a bus stop in Aldwych, located in central London. The incident occurred on Sunday at 3.35am, prompting a call to the police regarding a Range Rover that had struck multiple pedestrians waiting at the bus stop.
According to the ambulance service, three of the injured patients were transported to major trauma centers, while the others were taken to local hospitals for treatment. In addition, a man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has also been taken to the hospital.
The Metropolitan Police have stated that the incident is not currently being treated as terrorism-related. A spokesperson for the police provided further details, stating, "At approximately 3.35am on October 29th, the police received reports of a car colliding with several pedestrians at a bus stop in Aldwych. The London Ambulance Service promptly arrived at the scene and confirmed that eight pedestrians were taken to the hospital for treatment."
