Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail: The Priciest Car in the World

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a one-of-a-kind car called 'La Rose Noire', which is the world's most expensive and exclusive new car. The car, priced at £25 million, was commissioned by a super-rich couple from a prominent international family with a deep connection to France. The car is inspired by the Black Baccara Rose, which is beloved by the mother of the commissioning family. The car changes color depending on how it is viewed and reflects the romance and allure of the rose.

The car was presented to the client and her family at a private event during Monterey Car Week in California. The identity of the wealthy commissioning client has not been revealed, but there are clues that suggest their potential identity. Rolls-Royce worked closely with the client and her family to design the car, which represents their passion for detail and glamour.

The car features a removable low-slung hard-top that transforms it from an open-top roadster into a coupe. It has a specially created dark red paint called 'True Love' that took 150 iterations to perfect. The interior of the car includes intricate wood parquetry inlays, a luxury timepiece from Audemars Piguet, and a Rolls-Royce champagne chest and cooler.

The La Rose Noire Droptail is one of four models that will be built, each one unique in its styling and bespoke details chosen by the individual commissioning customers. The car is powered by a 593bhp 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 engine and can accelerate up to 62mph in around five seconds.

The car harks back to an era of 'coachbuilt' cars in the early 20th century, where customers would buy a base chassis and engine and commission a bespoke body to fit on top. Rolls-Royce describes the La Rose Noire Droptail as a 'dark, daring, and dramatic coach-built masterpiece' that celebrates the couple who created it.

The car's design and features are inspired by the Black Baccara Rose, and it incorporates elements that symbolize the romance and mystery of the flower. The car's exterior paint, interior wood parquetry, and even the champagne chest are all designed to reflect the beauty and elegance of the rose.

Overall, the La Rose Noire Droptail is a unique and luxurious car that embodies the passion and attention to detail of its commissioning clients. Its design and features make it a true masterpiece and a symbol of romance and glamour.
