Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail: The Priciest Car in the World

Rolls-Royce has revealed the world's most expensive and exclusive new car, called 'La Rose Noire'. This unique two-door, two-seater convertible Droptail has a price tag of £25 million and was commissioned by a super-rich couple from a prominent international family with a deep connection to France. The car is inspired by the romance and allure of the Black Baccara Rose, which is beloved by the mother of the commissioning family. The car changes color depending on how it is viewed and exudes a dark shade of red in the right light. It is described as a romantic celebration of the couple who created it and is one of four Droptails that will be produced over the coming years.

The one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail was presented to the client and her family at a private event during Monterey Car Week in California. The wealthy commissioning client and her family have a love for cars, fashion, art, and champagne. The car was designed in close cooperation with the client and her family and represents both glamour and their passion for detail. It features a removable low-slung hard-top that transforms it from an open-top roadster into a coupe with an electro-chromatic glass roof section. The car also has a specially created 'True Love' shade of dark red paint, complex wood parquetry inlays, and a removable luxury timepiece from Audemars Piguet.

The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a nod to the first 100mph Rolls-Royce of 1912, nicknamed 'The Sluggard'. It is 5.3 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 1.5 meters high, presenting a dramatic vision on the road. The car is powered by a 593bhp 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine and can accelerate up to 62mph in around five seconds. It features a raised rear tail, reminiscent of coachbuilt cars from the early 20th century. The car is described as a dark, daring, and dramatic coach-built masterpiece.

The interior of the La Rose Noire Droptail is adorned with intricate wood parquetry artwork, representing stylized rose petals. The craftsmanship required to create this artwork was intense, with the craftsman working in complete and silent isolation for five hours a day for nearly two years. The car also includes ultra-comfortable seats, a removable luxury timepiece from Audemars Piguet, and a Rolls-Royce champagne chest and cooler to carry the clients' special edition Champagne de Lossy.

The mystery buyer of the La Rose Noire Droptail remains undisclosed, but there are clues to their potential identity. Rolls-Royce describes the buyers as the heads of a prominent international family with a notable collection of motor cars, fashion icons, art objects, and multiple homes. The buyers have a deep connection to the Black Baccara Rose and a special vintage of Champagne de Lossy. The car captures the romantic and glamorous spirit of the commissioning clients and symbolizes their connoisseurship and luxury of the highest order.

The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship, with attention to detail in every aspect of its creation. From the unique paintwork and removable roof to the intricate wood parquetry and luxury timepiece, this car is a true symbol of luxury and exclusivity.
