Suzuki Swift facelift unveiled for Tokyo Motor Show
【Summary】Suzuki will showcase the new facelifted Suzuki Swift at the Tokyo Motor Show, along with an electric 4x4 and several 'Kei' car concepts. The Swift features subtle design updates and is expected to be released in 2024. Suzuki will also present an updated version of the eVX electric concept car and the eWX, a small electric concept car that adheres to Japan's Kei car regulations. Additionally, there will be a range of Kei car concepts, mobility solutions, and prototype mopeds on display.
Suzuki is set to showcase a range of exciting vehicles at the upcoming 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. Among the highlights is the new Suzuki Swift, which will be presented as part of the brand's efforts towards a carbon-neutral future. Although only one image has been released so far, it reveals subtle changes to the current model's design, including a new grille and headlights. While it is currently a concept, it is believed to offer a glimpse of the facelifted version expected in 2024. The car features a clamshell bonnet, a distinct shoulder line, a two-tone roof, and black door mirrors.
In addition to the new Swift, Suzuki will also showcase an updated version of the eVX, an electric vehicle concept that was unveiled earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2023 in India. The eVX, which has a range of 310 miles, has undergone some design refinements and will have its interior revealed for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show. Suzuki promises that the eVX will provide an enhanced SUV driving experience, thanks to its advanced electronically-controlled 4x4 technologies.
Another notable vehicle is the Suzuki eWX, a compact electric concept car that complies with Japan's strict Kei car regulations. Measuring less than 3.4m in length and 1.48m in width, the eWX offers a compact yet user-friendly cabin space that supports people's daily lives. With a range of 230km (143 miles), it aims to provide practicality and efficiency.
Suzuki will also be presenting a series of Kei car concepts targeted at the Japanese domestic market. These include the Spacia Concept, Spacia Custom Concept, and the e EVERY CONCEPT, a small battery-electric van developed in collaboration with Toyota. The e EVERY CONCEPT features vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and boasts a claimed range of 124 miles.
In addition to the vehicles, Suzuki will showcase various mobility solutions, such as a motorized wheelchair and the four-legged MOQBA, which can climb steps. Prototype mopeds and the Suzuki GO!, a joystick-operated rideable walking frame, will also be on display.
With such an exciting lineup, the Suzuki stand at the Tokyo Motor Show is sure to attract attention and provide a glimpse into the brand's vision for a carbon-neutral future.
