Swedish electric vehicle companies target intelligent driving in China

In recent years, there has been a growing focus among Swedish electric vehicle makers on China's premium EV car market. Similarly, Chinese automobile makers like Hongqi have chosen Sweden, Norway, and other Northern European countries as their first destinations to establish R&D facilities and promote their new electric vehicle brands in the European markets.

At the 26th edition of the Chengdu Motor Show, which is the largest annual auto show in western China, Polestar, a Swedish premium electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, announced a partnership with Mobileye. This partnership aims to incorporate Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology into the upcoming Polestar 4.

During the Chengdu Motor Show, Polestar showcased two of its electric SUV models: the Polestar 4, a pure electric high-performance SUV, and the Polestar 3, an ultra-luxury pure electric SUV. The Polestar 4, which will be the first production car to feature Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology, serves as the foundation for this advanced technology by integrating Mobileye SuperVision-based ADAS from the beginning.

Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car maker, unveiled its Polestar 4 at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 25, 2023. This event marks an important milestone for the company as it demonstrates its commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology in the electric vehicle industry.

Mobileye, a leading producer of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology, has already equipped over 150 million cars worldwide with its ADAS technology. The upcoming Mobileye Chauffeur technology is expected to enable hands-free, point-to-point autonomous driving on highways, while also providing eyes-on automated driving for various environments.
