Tesla Cybertrucks spotted testing in New Zealand

Tesla has been increasing its testing of the Cybertruck, and some of the testing is taking place in New Zealand, which is a popular winter testing location.

Recently, there have been sightings of up to five Cybertrucks at the test site, which is a significant increase from the previous sightings of only two Cybertrucks. These sightings were captured in pictures shared by a Cybertruck enthusiast on Twitter.

One of the pictures shows three Cybertrucks parked next to a shed, with the tailgate of one of the trucks marked as "Cybr-ute". Other pictures also show camouflaged test units, bringing the total count to at least five units on site. These units all have the triangular rear side mirrors that are expected in the production version of the Cybertruck.

Fans of the Cybertruck find the increase in the number of vehicles quite amusing, with one person commenting, "They've been sneaking them in."

The first Tesla Cybertruck with a large frunk opening was seen at the winter test site in June. The frunk of one of the units was recently photographed being opened, revealing some of the internal components. The size of the Cybertruck makes other vehicles parked nearby appear smaller.

The winter testing for Tesla vehicles takes place at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG) in the South Island of New Zealand. This testing is happening just before the Cybertruck is set to go into production later this quarter.

The large number of Cybertrucks undergoing winter testing indicates Tesla's commitment to ensuring the vehicle can operate in all terrains. This will give confidence to the hundreds of thousands of reservation holders who will be eager to test the vehicle when it becomes available in the coming years.
