Tesla is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first Supercharger station in Europe by offering free charging for all electric vehicles today. This initiative allows EV owners, regardless of the brand of their car, to charge their vehicles for free on August 29th from 8am until the end of the day. However, it's important to note that charging must start by 10.59pm.

The first Supercharger station in Europe was opened in Norway on August 29th, 2013. Since then, Tesla's Supercharger network has expanded across 36 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With over a thousand sites and 13,000 individual Superchargers, it is now considered the largest ultra-fast charging network in Europe.

Tesla's free charging initiative is part of their 'electric summer' celebrations and a way to show appreciation to the Tesla community for contributing to the growth and reliability of the Supercharger network. The company wants to highlight that the network is open to all electric vehicles, not just Teslas, and encourages drivers to take advantage of this opportunity to test and utilize the charging network.

In addition to the free charging offer, Tesla recently launched its latest V4 Supercharger in the UK. These new Superchargers are designed to be compatible with all electric vehicles that have CCS compatibility. The first V4 Supercharger is located at the Tesla Centre Tottenham and features a three-meter charging cable and a contactless card payment terminal.

James Court, CEO of the Electric Vehicles Association, expressed excitement about the new V4 Superchargers and the expansion of charging options for all EV drivers in the UK. He believes that Tesla's Supercharger network has been a point of envy for many EV owners and that the increased coverage and reliability will greatly benefit the entire EV community.

Decarbonisation Minister Jesse Norman also praised Tesla's investment in EV charging infrastructure, stating that it is a key part of the UK's transition to a green economy. The government is committed to making EV ownership easier and more accessible, and private investments like Tesla's will play a crucial role in achieving that goal.
