In the U.K., the Kia Sportage is the most searched used car, with over 33,970 Google searches per year. This South Korean SUV has captured the attention of many buyers, emphasizing the high demand for this particular model. Following closely behind are the Nissan Qashqai and Ford Fiesta, ranking second and third in popularity.

To determine the most popular used car models in the U.K., an assessment was conducted on 29 popular car brands. The analysis focused on the most commonly registered vehicles and considered the top five most searched-for models for each brand. This resulted in a total of 145 car models being evaluated. Yearly Google search data for each model was collected and ranked to determine their popularity.

According to a review conducted by car finance refund firm Undisclosed.co.uk, Ford is the most searched-for car brand in the U.K. This finding is based on the number of yearly searches for the 145 models of used cars across 29 brands. Audi and BMW follow closely behind as the second and third most searched-for car brands, respectively.

The Kia Sportage, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is not only the most searched used car overall but also the most Googled used car in 38 out of 58 U.K. cities analyzed. This includes major cities like Birmingham, Glasgow, and Liverpool, highlighting its widespread popularity.

The Nissan Qashqai ranks second in terms of popularity, with around 29,230 searches for 'used nissan qashqai' across the U.K. each year. This Japanese car model takes the top spot in eight cities analyzed, including Leicester, Newcastle, and Portsmouth. Its newest model in Europe features Nissan's e-POWER technology, catering to those who prioritize reducing their emissions.

Securing the third position is the Ford Fiesta, with approximately 28,380 searches each year for the term 'used ford fiesta.' Despite production of this model ceasing in July of this year after nearly five decades, it remains a popular choice in the used car market due to its reputation for reliability.

The BMW 1 Series claims the fourth spot, with around 23,640 searches per year. As part of the BMW group, which includes brands like Mini, Rolls-Royce, and BMW Motorrad, this German car model features in the top five used car searches for cities like Derby, Southampton, and Manchester.

Coming in fifth place is the Audi A1, with approximately 22,870 yearly searches dedicated to 'used audi a1.' Known for its quality and compact yet premium appeal, this German car model has become a favorite among UK drivers.

The Volvo XC40 takes the sixth spot, with around 21,610 searches each year. This showcases the Swedish car company's ability to create a desirable compact SUV that captures the interest of many used car buyers.

In seventh place is the Ford Focus, drawing in approximately 21,110 yearly searches. The Audi A3 follows closely behind in eighth place, attracting around 20,630 searches per year. The VW Golf secures the ninth spot with 19,490 searches each year, highlighting its enduring popularity among used car buyers.

Rounding out the top ten most searched-for used cars is the Volvo XC90, with 17,920 searches for 'used volvo xc90' each year. This large SUV model from the Swedish car company continues to generate interest among used car searchers in the UK.
