Track day enthusiasts often gravitate towards small manufacturers like Caterham, Radical, Dallara, BAC, Ariel, or Ginetta. However, there are also custom-made vehicles with racecar aesthetics and track-focused setups that capture their attention. One such example is the prototype shown in the picture, which was meticulously handbuilt using various Audi parts.

From an external perspective, this unnamed and unbranded vehicle is designed to resemble the Group C racecars of the '80s and '90s. It boasts a low and wide stance, a droplet-shaped canopy, and a central driving position. The absence of mirrors and license plates indicates that this car is exclusively for the track, meaning it cannot be legally driven on public roads.

Notable features such as the prominent splitter, wide shoulders, NACA-style air ducts, side exhausts, roof scoop, large rear wing, and wide rear tires all contribute to the vehicle's track prowess. However, it remains uncertain if this build incorporates any motorsport genes beneath its striking exterior. The owner mentions the use of numerous Audi parts but does not delve into specific details regarding the underpinnings or specifications. Judging by its appearance, it is possible that this model is based on a custom chassis rather than utilizing the architecture of a pre-existing vehicle.

Regarding the powertrain, the rear-mounted V6 engine is sourced from the first-generation Audi A4. While the bi-turbo 2.7-liter V6 found in the original RS4 would have been the most fitting choice for this build, the prototype is equipped with the 2.8-liter unit derived from a lesser variant. This particular engine produces up to 190 hp (193 PS / 142 kW), which is still quite substantial for a lightweight vehicle. Additionally, it can be easily tuned for even more power. The owner claims that the prototype is in working condition, albeit requiring some minor work.

The vehicle is currently located in Vásárosnamény, Hungary, and was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It recently garnered attention in the Unique Cars For Sale 3.0 Group. The asking price was €20,000 ($21,840), which is relatively affordable compared to most track-day toys. However, it's worth noting that a used Mazda MX-5 could be purchased and modified for a significantly lower cost. Unfortunately, the listing is no longer available, suggesting that someone may have already purchased this unique-looking prototype.
