The 26th Chengdu Motor Show is set to begin on August 25 in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, according to Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, one of the organizers. The event will run until September 3 and will showcase approximately 1,600 models from 129 different automotive brands from countries such as China, the United States, Germany, and Japan.

Among the highlights of the show, Chinese brand IM will unveil its latest LS6 SUV, while BYD, China's largest NEV maker, will showcase a wide range of models from all its marques. In addition, international brands including BMW and Bentley will impress visitors with their latest models.

In addition to the exhibits, the organizers will also hold forums and events that allow visitors to experience the showcased models. Liu Guoliang, president of Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, believes that the motor show and its associated events will contribute to boosting vehicle sales not only in Sichuan province but also in Southwest China as a whole.

Chengdu, with a population of over 6 million vehicles, is one of the cities in China with a high number of vehicles. The country itself is the largest vehicle market in the world, with over 15.62 million vehicles sold in the first seven months of this year, representing a 7.9 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
