2023 car releases

If you're in the market for a new car in 2023, our comprehensive guide is the perfect starting point. We have compiled a list of all the major model launches that are scheduled to happen in the next 12 months. Whether you're interested in supercars, superminis, electric cars, V12s, hybrids, or hot hatchbacks, we've got you covered.

The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is having some unintended consequences. Car manufacturers are pushing combustion technology to its limits before it becomes obsolete. However, amidst all the changes, they haven't completely abandoned the familiar models we know and love. For every new nameplate, there is still room for the classics, like the Spectre and the 5 Series.

Looking ahead to the second half of 2023, we have gathered a list of all the new models that will be available in showrooms near you. Let's take a closer look at what's coming:

In October 2023, the highly anticipated eighth generation of the BMW 5 Series will be launched. While the brand is accelerating its electrification efforts, the UK market will initially only have one pure-ICE (internal combustion engine) variant, the entry-level 520i petrol model. This model will be followed by two more powerful plug-in hybrids by mid-2024. Additionally, a fully electric i5 variant will also be introduced, with the range-topping M60 xDrive boasting an impressive 593bhp and 605lb ft of torque.

Another exciting model coming in October is the BMW i7 M70, which is the brand's most powerful electric car to date. With a dual-motor powertrain, it delivers 650bhp and 811lb ft of torque to all four wheels. This allows the 2.7-tonne limousine to go from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph. The starting price for the i7 M70 is £161,963.

The long-awaited Fisker Ocean will also be making its way to the UK. This electric car comes with innovative features such as a solar roof, which is said to add 1500 miles of range annually, and a 113kWh battery pack that provides a range of 440 miles per charge.

For fans of electric hot hatches, Hyundai will be introducing the Ioniq 5 N. This is Hyundai N's first and newest electric hot hatch, and it certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to performance. With dual motors, it can deliver up to 641bhp and achieve a 0-62mph time of just 3.4 seconds, outpacing even the BMW M3. To enhance the driving experience, the Ioniq 5 N features jolts between shifts to add to its analogue appeal, and the engine soundtrack emulates the sonic boom from fighter jets, revving up to 8000rpm through the speakers.
