2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 electric SUV spotted in Europe

Hyundai's upcoming electric seven-seater SUV has been captured on camera, giving us a sneak peek before its official debut in the following months. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 was recently spotted undergoing on-road testing in Germany, providing valuable insights into its design and features.

Although the photos were taken on public roads, Hyundai's engineering test facility at the renowned Nurburgring circuit played a significant role in the SUV's development. Drive's European spy photography partners managed to capture the Ioniq 7 in action, despite its heavy vinyl camouflage.

The Ioniq 7 is the production version of the Seven concept, which was initially showcased at the Los Angeles motor show almost a year ago. While the camouflage hides many details, the visible portions of the vehicle reveal that it will boast black plastic cladding integrated into the wheel arch openings.

Underneath its sleek exterior, the Ioniq 7 shares its foundation with Hyundai's E-GMP electric-vehicle platform. This platform is also used by the Kia EV9, which is already available for purchase in Australia. Therefore, the Ioniq 7 and the EV9 are essentially twins in terms of their underlying technology.

Although Hyundai has not disclosed specific details about the Ioniq 7 at this early stage, the company has confirmed that the seven-seater electric SUV will offer a driving range of over 483 kilometers. This suggests that it may come equipped with the EV9's optional 99.8kWh extended-range battery pack and dual electric motors for enhanced performance.

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 is expected to make its official debut in the early months of the new year. However, there is no official confirmation yet regarding its availability in the Australian market.
