2024 Kia EV9 Priced at $56,000
【Summary】Kia's 2024 EV9 three-row electric SUV will start at just over $56,000 for the base model. It features a rear-mounted electric motor with 215 horsepower and a 76.1-kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of 223 miles. Pricing for the Long Range models and AWD configurations is yet to be announced, but fully loaded versions are expected to exceed $70,000. The EV9 will be available in the U.S. later this year, with production moving to Georgia in 2024.
Kia has revealed the starting price for their upcoming 2024 EV9 three-row electric SUV. The base model, known as the EV9 Light RWD, comes equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor that can produce 215 horsepower.
Although the pricing for the Long Range models and the dual-motor AWD configurations has not been announced yet, Kia has stated that the base version of the EV9 will be priced similarly to a fully loaded version of the gas-powered Telluride.
The official Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the standard Light RWD configuration of the 2024 EV9 is $54,900. While the exact destination charge has not been provided by Kia, based on the destination charges for the EV6, it is estimated that the base price will be slightly over $56,000.
This particular configuration of the EV9 features a single rear-mounted electric motor with 215 horsepower, powered by a 76.1-kWh battery pack. Although the EPA range estimates are not yet available, Kia estimates that this version of the EV9 will offer a range of 223 miles.
Considering the 5000-pound curb weight of the EV9, 215 horsepower may not seem like much for acceleration. It is estimated that this model will take around 8.0 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.
Pricing details for the more desirable versions of the EV9, which include larger battery packs for extended range and dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain setups with more power, are still to be announced. It is expected that the larger Long Range battery pack, with a capacity of 99.8 kWh, will add a few thousand dollars to the overall price. Additionally, the 379-hp dual-motor powertrain available in the Wind, Land, and GT-Line trim levels will also contribute to the price increase. It is anticipated that fully loaded versions of the EV9 will exceed $70,000.
Kia has confirmed that the EV9 will be available for sale in the United States later this year, with initial units being imported from Korea. Production will then be shifted to Kia's factory in West Point, Georgia, starting next year.
