Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an updated version of the EQB, which is set to hit showrooms in the first half of 2023 as a 2024 model. The new EQB features some styling tweaks, as well as new technology, while retaining the same three powertrain options as the current model: EQB 250+, EQB 300 4Matic, and EQB 350 4Matic.

Pricing details for the updated EQB have not yet been announced, but the starting price for the 2023 model is $53,900, including a $1,150 destination charge. Like its gas-powered counterpart, the EQB offers seating for up to seven people, making it a great choice for small families. With the seats folded, the maximum storage space is 60.4 cubic feet.

The updated EQB shares its styling updates with the rest of the 2024 GLB-Class range. These updates include a new front fascia design, new wheel patterns, and standard LED lights. The EQB also features a unique black panel with a star pattern instead of a traditional grille, distinguishing it from the gas-powered models.

Inside the EQB, there are 10.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, both placed under one pane of glass. The infotainment screen runs on the latest version of Mercedes' MBUX interface, which includes voice activation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and an optional Burmester audio system with Dolby Atmos is available. The vehicle also boasts a new steering wheel design.

As for the powertrain options, the base EQB 250+ comes with a single-motor front-wheel-drive configuration that delivers a peak power of 188 hp. The other grades feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with peak outputs of 225 and 288 hp. All models come with a standard 70.5-kWh battery, which is estimated to offer up to 245 miles of range in the most efficient EQB 250+ grade.

One new feature for the 2024 EQB is the Plug & Charge function, which allows for more convenient charging at compatible stations. When the charging cable is plugged in, the charging process starts automatically, with the vehicle and charging station communicating directly via the cable. Users can locate compatible charging stations through the navigation system or the Mercedes Me Connect app.

Mercedes has also introduced Sound Experiences to the updated EQB. These include various sounds that play when the driver and passengers approach, enter, lock, or leave the vehicle. Additionally, there is a unique sound while the vehicle is in motion. Users have the option to activate or deactivate these sounds through the infotainment system.
