Facebook message reveals son's body in a BMW

Cape Town police are currently investigating a murder case after the body of a man was discovered in a car covered with a tarp in Kraaifontein. The victim, identified as Llewellyn Arendse, 24, was found in a broken-down white BMW at the intersection of Malva and Dahlia Street in Scottsville, Kraaifontein. The investigation was initiated after a resident came across a Facebook post mentioning "a present waiting for them" in the vehicle.

The resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, immediately informed the Arendse family about the message they had seen on Facebook. Acting upon this information, they went to the car and lifted the black tarp, leading to the gruesome discovery of the victim's body. The deceased was found in the front passenger seat, holding a cigarette lighter in his hand. Without the Facebook message, it is likely that the body would have remained undiscovered.

Llewellyn Arendse's mother, Lizma Arendse, expressed her devastation over her son's tragic death. She revealed that her son had been acting strangely and even asked her for forgiveness the night before his demise. Lizma Arendse shared, "On Saturday night, he asked me to forgive him for any wrongdoing. He probably had a premonition that he was going to die." The family was later informed by someone on Sunday afternoon that they recognized Llewellyn as the deceased individual in the car.

Lizma Arendse further disclosed that she had a nightmare on Saturday night, wherein she herself was shot. She expressed disbelief and sorrow over the brutal killing of her son, emphasizing that he was not a troublemaker and always helped others with odd jobs. Llewellyn Arendse did not have any children. Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, a police spokesman, confirmed the incident and stated that the Kraaifontein police are currently conducting a murder investigation.
