Ford Transit Custom campervan devours nature for breakfast
【Summary】German tuning house Loder1899 has created an extreme concept version of the Ford Transit Custom campervan. The heavily modified vehicle features a lift kit, larger wheels and tyres, plastic wheelarch extensions, a crash bar, and additional headlights and spotlights. While this concept is not yet available for purchase, a similar version will be released as part of Loder1899's brand revival in 2024.
The Ford Transit Custom is a versatile vehicle that can be transformed into a campervan, as demonstrated by Ford itself with its camper version called the Transit Custom Nugget. While the Custom Nugget is suitable for a peaceful weekend getaway, a new concept has emerged that seems ready to tackle any challenge, even the end of civilization.
Designed by German tuning house Loder1899, this modified Transit Custom is built to go off-road. It features a lift kit, 18-inch rims, and chunky 255/55 R18 tires, which raise the vehicle by 80mm. Additionally, plastic wheelarch extensions have been added to accommodate the wider tires.
The front end of the vehicle is equipped with a crash bar for extra protection, as well as two high-performance PIAA headlights. To ensure optimal visibility on the trail or at the campsite, the roof rack carries eight additional spotlights. The roof rack also holds essential expedition items such as an expandable roof-mount tent, jerrycan, and storage boxes. In case of emergencies, there is a full spare wheel, shovel, and ramps to assist in getting back on track.
Although this concept is not yet available for purchase, Loder1899 plans to introduce a version of it as part of their brand revival in 2024. This move aligns with their parent company delta4x4, which specializes in producing off-road parts and accessories for various vehicles, including the Ford Ranger, Jeep Wrangler, Suzuki Jimny, and Tesla Model Y.
In addition to this rugged concept, Loder1899 is also working on a street-focused version of the Transit Custom. This version will feature a sharper body kit, a lower ride, and larger 20-inch wheels.
