Porsche has announced a partnership with Google to integrate Google services into its future vehicle models, marking a significant advancement in creating a more connected driving experience. This collaboration will bring Google Maps for navigation, Google Assistant for voice control features, and access to various apps through the Google Play Store to Porsche vehicles starting in the middle of this decade.

Despite incorporating Google's technology, Porsche assures that its signature user interface and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system will remain unchanged. PCM will serve as the gateway to Google services and will continue to receive regular over-the-air updates to keep the system up to date.

Porsche Chairman Oliver Blume expressed that customers not only desire timeless design and exceptional performance but also a seamless digital experience. He emphasized that the integration of platforms and apps that customers are familiar with from their personal devices will create a blended ecosystem in Porsche vehicles.

Porsche welcomes an open approach to innovation and is excited to work with partners like Google to develop new technologies. This collaboration will allow Porsche to integrate relevant digital ecosystems directly into their vehicles using standardized interfaces and platforms.

Google views this partnership as a long-term commitment and is eager to bring its technology into Porsche vehicles. Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior Vice President of Platforms and Ecosystems at Google, expressed excitement about partnering with Porsche to provide innovative and helpful in-vehicle experiences to customers.

This integration with Google services is the latest effort by Porsche to enhance connected features and in-vehicle digital experiences. By incorporating smartphone-like capabilities into the dashboard, Porsche aims to combine exceptional driving performance with industry-standard convenience and enjoyment.
