Four-seat Lamborghini Lanzador GT concept: The First Electric Vehicle from the Brand
【Summary】Lamborghini has unveiled their first electric vehicle, the Lanzador GT concept. This four-seat GT aims to bridge the gap between the Urus SUV and the company's mid-engined supercars. The concept showcases the brand's commitment to offering sportiness and fun-to-drive character in an electric vehicle. The Lanzador is described as a "laboratory on wheels" that demonstrates the production intent of the technology and manufacturing methods.
The long-awaited electric Lamborghini has finally arrived. After the success of the Urus SUV, Lamborghini is now venturing into a new segment with the introduction of the Lanzador, a stunning four-seat GT.
Unveiled as a concept at Monterey Car Week in California, the Lanzador is set to be launched in five years. This sleek two-row supercar has a similar size to the Porsche Taycan, but it sits higher from the ground to offer improved versatility.
The Lanzador is designed to bridge the gap between the Urus and Lamborghini's lineup of mid-engined supercars. It is considered a "concrete vision" of the company's next model line, promising exceptional sportiness and a fun-to-drive character.
However, the Lanzador is more than just a show car. It is described as a "laboratory on wheels," showcasing the production intent of the technology and manufacturing methods it incorporates.
Speculation about an electric Lamborghini has been ongoing since 2017 when the Terzo Millennio hypercar hinted at the brand's zero-emission future. In 2021, CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the development of an electric Lamborghini, further fueling anticipation.
By revealing the Lanzador five years before its release, Lamborghini aims to prepare the market and gather feedback. Winkelmann believes that this extended timeframe will allow the company to shape a unique and distinctive character for its EVs.
