EV drivers using the GeniePoint network via Zap-Pay have a special promotion to look forward to. For the first two weeks of September, they will benefit from discounted charging rates. This initiative celebrates the launch of GeniePoint's GenieFlex pricing tariff on Zap-Pay and is exclusively available to Zap-Pay users who charge on the GeniePoint network. Additionally, it coincides with World EV Day on September 9.
The GenieFlex pricing tariff offers customers lower charging rates during off-peak times when charge points are less likely to be in use. Off-peak times are defined as between 20:00 and 07:59. The current GenieFlex price tariff is 75p per kWh for off-peak charging and 79p per kWh at peak times.
As part of this exclusive offer, Zap-Pay users will enjoy a 10p per kWh reduction, resulting in a charging tariff of 65p per kWh during off-peak times and 69p per kWh during peak times. On average, drivers could save around £3 per charge session.
Matt Lloyd, CPO manager at Zapmap, expressed his enthusiasm for the discount, stating that Zap-Pay is a convenient way to pay for charging across networks through the Zapmap app. He is pleased to offer this great discount to Zap-Pay users on the GeniePoint network throughout the country. He recognizes that cost is a concern for many drivers, whether they are taking long journeys or simply topping up at their destination. Therefore, he is delighted to see Zap-Pay amplifying the benefits of the GenieFlex price tariff and supporting EV drivers without access to a home charger.
Dee Humphries, director at GeniePoint owner Equans EV Solutions, emphasized their commitment to making EV charging as accessible and convenient as possible. They are thrilled to launch this exclusive charging discount in partnership with Zapmap for EV drivers who use Zap-Pay. This offer is also a way to celebrate World EV Day and express gratitude to those who have made the transition to EV, supporting a sustainable future.
