A teenage boy was caught driving his Honda Jazz at more than twice the speed limit in the rain, leading to consequences that will affect his transportation options. It is unclear whether the high speed was due to a downhill run or a tailwind.

The incident took place in the Hawkesbury area on the western fringes of Sydney, where officers from the NSW Police Highway Patrol detected the old Honda Jazz allegedly traveling at 153km/h in a 70km/h zone. Despite the late hour of 1:42 am, the police were prepared and ready to apprehend the driver.

The 17-year-old driver's license was suspended, and the registration plates of the Honda Jazz were seized, resulting in the cancellation of the vehicle's registration. In addition, the driver was issued a penalty notice for six demerit points and a fine of $2616.
