Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: Confirmed UK Pricing for 650hp Model

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is generating a lot of interest, and for good reason. This electric hot hatch checks all the boxes for a great performance car - it has a stiffer body, improved suspension, more power, and some exciting features. With its N e-shift, N Grin Boost, and N Drift Optimiser, the Ioniq 5 N offers a thrilling driving experience. It's clear that Hyundai has designed this car with the driver in mind.

In the UK, the Ioniq 5 N is priced at £65,000, which aligns with initial estimates. Buyers will also receive additional upgrades such as Hyundai's updated CCnC navigation system with faster processing, wireless phone mirroring, a head-up display with N-specific layouts, 21-inch wheels, Pirelli P Zero tyres, and the N bodykit. These enhancements complement the already impressive features of the Ioniq 5, including advanced safety technologies, large screens, and ample charging ports.

Contrary to what the pictures may suggest, the Ioniq 5 N will be available in colors other than gloss Performance Blue. Matte Performance Blue is an option, along with seven other colors: pearl Abyss Black, Atlas White (matte and gloss), Ecotronic Grey (pearl and matte), metallic Cyber Grey, and Soultronic Orange. The standard paint color, Soultronic Orange, adds a unique touch to the vehicle. Other paint options come at an additional cost ranging from £665 to £885, depending on the finish.

In terms of pricing, the Ioniq 5 N remains relatively unchanged, with the only significant cost variation being the paint color. The addition of a £1,250 Vision Roof is also available, bringing the maximum price of the Ioniq 5 N in the UK to £67,135. Considering the impressive performance of this car, the price tag seems reasonable.

When comparing the Ioniq 5 N to its rivals, the Mercedes-AMG A45 S comes closest in terms of pricing, starting at £63,285. However, these two cars offer very different driving experiences. There are also alternatives from Genesis and Kia, which share many components with the Hyundai. The EV6 GT from Kia offers 585hp and starts at £62,645, while the Genesis GV60 with a dual-motor 490hp setup starts at £67,705. Another driver-focused EV to consider is the BMW i4 M50, which may have less power at 544hp but has a similar price point of £71,085.

Ashley Andrew, Hyundai UK's President, describes the Ioniq 5 N as the first EV for driving enthusiasts. He emphasizes that it not only delivers high performance and precision handling but also provides an emotional connection that is often missing in performance EVs. With its driver-centric features and the ability to switch between different driving modes, the Ioniq 5 N aims to offer a versatile and enjoyable driving experience. We hope that this car lives up to its promises and justifies its price.
