Improved Buick Wildcat Design Study
【Summary】Buick shares behind-the-scenes look at the design of the Buick Wildcat, revealing it is moving towards electrified crossovers and away from sedans. The concept car appears more production-ready and attractive than the actual model.
The General Motors Design studio recently provided a glimpse into the creation of the first version of the modern Buick Wildcat. This concept car made its debut just over a year ago and was designed to showcase Buick's future direction in terms of design. Elements from the Wildcat concept can already be seen in new models like the 2024 Envista.
In addition to showcasing the Wildcat, Buick also used the video introduction to symbolically announce its departure from traditional sedans such as the LaCrosse and Regal. Instead, Buick is embracing a new era of electrified crossovers. To reinforce this shift, Buick has even unveiled a brand new logo.
Interestingly, the animated car used in the video to convince Buick's management to build the concept appears to be more production-ready than the final product. In our opinion, the animated car is more visually appealing than the somewhat radical concept that was ultimately produced.
