Landlord's eviction of used car dealer for Channel 4 contestant sparks accusation of 'stitch up'

A used car dealer in Telford is expressing his frustration with his former landlord, claiming that he was evicted from his showroom to make room for a contestant on a Channel 4 show.

Initially, when the owner of the site informed Humbers Car Centre boss Shaun Williams that he needed to find new premises because he planned to sell, Williams understood the situation and found a new temporary home for his business.

However, his understanding turned to disappointment when he discovered that the site had been leased to one of his old school friends, Dale Oliver, who is participating in Channel 4's Double The Money show hosted by Sue Perkins.

In an upcoming episode, Oliver and his partner have decided to sell used cars and have taken over the recently vacated home of Humbers Car Centre. This development has infuriated Williams, who believes that Oliver is using his business's success to increase his chances of winning the show.

Williams expressed his frustration, stating, "I've spent two years building this business up. If my business can't be on there, how come this one can? I feel I have been kicked off just so Dale can win this show."

He also voiced concerns about Oliver selling cars to his customers, as people are familiar with the car lot and him. Williams had been selling 20 cars a month at the previous location.
