Subaru Forester reveal date announced

Subaru is set to unveil its sixth-generation Forester at the upcoming Los Angeles motor show. The Japanese car manufacturer has teased the new SUV online, with the official reveal scheduled for November 16 in the US. While some speculate that it could be a new version of the Subaru Ascent, the Forester is expected to be the next model to be replaced.

Earlier this year, Subaru Australia's managing director hinted at a new-generation Forester being revealed towards the end of 2023. The current model has been on sale since late 2018, and the new version is anticipated to be unveiled approximately five years later. Although details about the new Forester are scarce, it is rumored to be the first Subaru model to adopt hybrid technology from Toyota.

Subaru announced in May 2023 that it would be transitioning to Toyota-based hybrid systems from 2025. The Forester is considered the most likely candidate to receive the next-generation electrification. Subaru Australia's managing director expressed the importance of bringing their best foot forward with the new Forester, given its status as their number-one selling model.

The exact timing of the new-generation Forester's release in Australia is still unknown. However, the current Forester has been performing well in the market, ranking as the sixth best-selling sub-$60,000 medium SUV in the country. Between January and October 2023, 13,464 units were delivered, representing a nearly 72% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
