Swedish EV companies target intelligent driving in Chinese market

In recent years, there has been a growing focus among Swedish electric vehicle makers on China's premium EV car market. Similarly, Chinese automobile makers like Hongqi have chosen Sweden, Norway, and other Northern European countries as their first stop to establish R&D facilities and promote new electric vehicle brands in the European markets.

At the 26th edition of the Chengdu Motor Show, Swedish premium electric vehicle maker Polestar announced a partnership with Mobileye. The collaboration aims to incorporate Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology into the Polestar 4, their latest offering.

The Chengdu Motor Show, which took place on August 25, 2023, is the largest annual auto show in western China. Polestar took advantage of this platform to showcase their impressive lineup, including the Polestar 4, a pure electric high-performance SUV, and the Polestar 3, an ultra-luxury pure electric SUV.

The Polestar 4 stands out as the first production car to feature Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology. This technology is based on Mobileye SuperVision-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and sets the foundation for future developments in autonomous driving.

Mobileye is a leading producer of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology, which is already installed in over 150 million cars worldwide. Their Chauffeur technology, expected to be rolled out in the coming years, aims to enable hands-free, point-to-point autonomous driving on highways, while also providing eyes-on automated driving for various environments.
