Less than two months after the initial announcement, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has revealed that the UK government will not be implementing a ban on petrol- and diesel-powered new cars by 2030 as previously stated. Instead, the deadline has been extended to 2035, aligning the UK with Europe's plan to require new vehicles to have zero tailpipe emissions by 2035.
