Two individuals are currently in a serious condition in the hospital following a car accident at a campsite in Pembrokeshire, west Wales. The incident occurred when a blue Ford Fiesta veered off the road, flipped, and rolled into the campsite, ultimately hitting a tent where a baby was sleeping. The car, carrying multiple passengers, collided with people and the tent, resulting in injuries to a total of nine individuals.
Among the injured, two are in a serious condition and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. It has been reported that the passengers in the car were also among those injured. Clare Harris, who operates the campsite alongside her husband Mike, described the incident, stating that the car was speeding down a hill and attempted to brake, but failed to slow down in time. As a result, the car flipped and rolled multiple times before crashing into the tent. Fortunately, the baby inside the tent escaped unharmed. Harris emphasized that the incident is a tragic accident currently being handled by the police.
One individual was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales, with assistance from the Welsh Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard. The car involved in the accident was believed to be traveling from Roch to St Davids when it veered off the A487 road. Dyfed Powys Police announced that the road was temporarily closed for investigations and has since been reopened as of 7.45 am today. The police are appealing for any information regarding the blue Ford Fiesta and its occupants. They are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage or doorbell footage that may have captured the car's journey from Roch to the scene of the collision at Newgale campsite.
